• Imagine the potential of Wales as a true Nation of Sanctuary

    On Wednesday 17 June 2020 the City of Sanctuary UK and British Red Cross VOICES network hosted a Sanctuary in Politics online event for Members of the Senedd.

    The event explored themes and highlighted issues important to those seeking sanctuary in Wales including education and employability and aimed to give Members of the Senedd an opportunity to hear directly from people who are experts by experience.

    Lee Evans, TGP Cymru’s National Development Manager on our Refugee and Asylum Programme supported members of the TGP Participation Forum for Young People to take part. Chawan, who is 20 and a College student, who came to Wales from Syria and has worked with TGP Cymru for 2 years gave a presentation on her campaign to help her College become the first College of Sanctuary in Wales.
