How can we help?

We offer Independent Visiting Services to children and young people living in Merthyr Tydfil, Rhondda Cynon Taf and Bridgend.

What is an Independent Visitor?

An Independent Visitor in a volunteer who is matched with a child or young person in care. The aim of an Independent Visitor is to engage in activities with the child or young person on a monthly basis, and to be a consistent adult in their life.

An Independent Visitor is:

  • A volunteer who enjoys spending time with children and young people
  • Someone who fosters a safe and welcoming environment
  • Someone who can take a young person on fun activities
  • A positive role model and a trusted adult friend

Our eligibility criteria

Cwm Taf Morgannwg Independent Visiting Service is available to looked after children or young people who are living away from home and have little or no contact with their family.
