Senior Practitioner: North Wales

  • £23,866 (interim starting salary) / plus 2 SCP for internal staff
  • Full Time (30 – 37 hours)

This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced individual to work directly with children and young people through the provision of independent professional advocacy, while also supporting the Team Manager through the direct line management of a number of staff.

You will manage a small case load, working directly with children and young people in receipt of input from Social Services. In addition, you will directly line manage a number of staff and at key times, respond to day to day queries from the wider team. You will work closely with the Team Manager on Service delivery and development.

Team Manager: North Wales

This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced Team Manager to lead a regional team.

The recent introduction of the National Approach to Statutory Advocacy is raising the profile of advocacy in Wales. As such this is an opportunity to develop and promote the North Wales Service across the region.

Candidates must have an interest in children’s rights and supporting children to have a voice. You will have strong management skills, experience of leading a team and multi-agency working.

Participation Officer: Mid and West Wales

TGP Cymru is looking for an experienced Participation Worker for its Mid and West Wales service.

This exciting post offers the opportunity to work with young people to promote safeguarding through the facilitation of local and regional Junior Safeguarding Children’s Boards.

The post holder will also work closely with looked after children and young people in Powys to produce a quarterly newsletter.

Project Administrator: Western Bay - Swansea

We are seeking to recruit an effective and efficient administrator who will support the smooth running of the Western Bay Advocacy Service functions of the organisation.

You should have at least 2 years of administrative experience including minute taking and using IT software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Independent Visitor Volunteering Opportunity

Are you interested in giving some of your time as a volunteer to work with children and young people who are in foster care?

We have opportunities for volunteer Independent Visitors in:

  • Mid and West Wales – Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Powys
  • North Wales – Anglesey, Gwynedd, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham.

As an Independent Visitor you will be teamed up with a child or young person who has no or very little contact with their birth parents. You will befriend and visit on a regular basis, taking your child or young person out once a month to engage in activities of their choice. This could be going to the park or cinema, playing tennis or just spending time together.

You will receive training, support and expenses for travel and activities. You must be 18 or over, reliable, able to commit for at least one year and able to communicate well with young people.
