TGP Cymru Parent Advocacy Services

How can we help?

What is Parent Advocacy?

The overall aims of Parent Advocacy are:

  • to reduce the numbers of children entering the care system
  • to keep families together.

Parent advocacy provides voice and choice to parents, by supporting parents to navigate the child protection system, and to be fully involved in the decision-making processes.

The role of the Parent Advocate

Parent Advocates

  • Work under instruction from parents
  • Do not offer advice or opinion and never take action without the consent of the parent
  • Do not make judgements or decisions on behalf of a parent.
