• Ceredigion’s Junior Safeguarding Board Online ‘Open’ Mic Event

    Ceredigion’s Junior Safeguarding Board (Safe Stars) hosted an Online ‘Open Mic’ Event for children and young people on 9 April. The event was held to encourage child and young people to express themselves and also raise awareness of keeping them safe online. 

    Young People, their families and professionals all attended the event which was held on Zoom. Brian Evans (Head teacher, Llwyn Yr Eos Primary School, Aberystwyth) introduced a wide variety of acts, a Safeguarding Poem, a Lip-Sync celebration song and a DJ set from our Resident DJ Theo. There was also an opportunity to play the ‘SAFE’ Rap which was created and produced by the Safe Stars group back in 2018. The talented acts included piano, guitar and drum solos, a dance, singing, beatboxing and even a magic trick! It was an incredible event and all the children and young people who took part were absolutely fantastic!!!

    TGP Cymru CEO Jackie Murphy attended and kindly said a few words to close the afternoon’s preceding’s. The online event ended with everybody singing and dancing together and brought a much needed smile to all of their faces ☺

    The Safe Stars group would like to thank the TGP Cymru Mid and West Wales team for all their support and everybody else who attended to make the event a huge success. We can’t wait for the next one ☺
