• “Put Yourself In Our Shoes”

    The young people of TGP Cymru’s Refugee and Asylum Programme have produced a video entitled “Put Yourself In Our Shoes” asking others to view the world from their perspective as they face social alienation and systemic barriers, with the aim that telling their stories will make those in Wales more sympathetic towards others like them.

    The video explores topics such as the difficulty of navigating the asylum process, racial discrimination in education, and cultural differences which influence how we talk and dress. The young people hope that in explaining their experiences that others will gain a greater understanding of them, an understanding which will decrease the likelihood they face hardship in the future. The ultimate message of the video is that diversity should be understood, respected and celebrated.
